Planting the Seeds of Change
In 2002, Professor Stéphane McLachlan and doctoral student Ian Mauro researched the implications of genetically modified crops for farming, rural communities, and the environment. They compiled their findings in a documentary entitled Seeds of Change: Farmers, Biotechnology and the New Face of Agriculture. In 2013, the film was evaluated for its impact on a wide diversity of stakeholders. Semi-structured interviews with key actors and associated groups were conducted as well as content analysis of associated websites. A visual narrative of the results was created to demonstrate the interconnected nature of the impacts.
